80' Pontiac Trans Am

The Pontiac Trans Am production began in 1969 and only a few hundred were sold that year.
As the years progressed, the muscle car era and the days of the high-horsepower engine
greatly digressed. Emission regulations, increase in oil prices, and increases in safety
policy brought this glorious era to its knees. During this time, the popularity of the Trans
Am steadily increased, thanks in-part to its relatively powerful engine, good handling, and
styling. In 1977, Burt Reynolds' "Smokey and the Bandit" was released and the cars place in
history was secured.

1980 model year Trans Ams could now be ordered with a widening array of luxury items in attempt to
broaden its appeal to those who were interested in the performance image of the car, but did not want
to sacrifce the creature comforts of other cars in the same price class. These included new digitally
tuned stereo radios, additional acoustical insulation packages, and a new seat covering style.

Inside, there were few detail changes. The base seats were still finished in Oxen vinyl, but the headrests
were no longer pleated to match the remaining seating surface. Custom interior was still available, either
in Doeskin vinyl or in Hobnail cloth. The speedometer was changed, abiding by new federal laws which
limited the speedometer to 85 mph.

This 1980 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am is finished in Starlight Black. It has the Iconic
Firebird hood decal, and Original 1980 "Turbo Wheels" in great condition. This car is an original
"Turbo" car with an upgraded (NOM) Pontiac 350 cubic-inch v8 with a holley 4BBL Carburetor. The exterior
has all the original gold decals Iconic to the 1980 "Turbo" cars. This example comes equipped with
Pwr. Steering, Pwr. Brakes, Pwr. Windows and upgraded In-Dash CD Player! The black with Gold
Trim vinyl interior is in good condition and shows well. Overall this car drives and runs well!
