The Sting Rays were the automotive success story of the year. Chevrolet had to add
a second shift to its St. Louis, Missouri assembly plant to keep up with demand,
and dealers reported owners waiting months for their cars to be built. By the end
of the model year, Corvette production would surpass the 20,000-unit milestone.
The Corvette received totally new styling for '63. The headlights were hidden in an
electrically operated panel. This was more than a gimmick as it added to the cars
aerodynamic design. Front fender louvers, vents on the roof side panels and ribbed
rocker panel molding were styling features used on the sides of the new Corvette.
Fitted to this car; a numbers matching 327 cubic inch 300 horsepower V-8 L75 engine.
The transmission is the factory optional 2 speed automatic. Other factory options
include pwr. steering and pwr. brakes. The exterior is a tuxedo black with a
black interior, black soft-top and a black hardtop. This classic American Roadster is
extremely solid and fun to drive. This car would be a great addition to any collection as
it is one of the most collectable of all corvettes.
