In 1914, Dodge Brothers, Inc. was formed. In that first year, Dodge introduced the
"Old Betsy," a rugged car built for reliability and durability. That year Dodge built
a total of 249 new cars.
In July, 1923, Dodge made its most radical styling change to date. Wheelbase was extended
to 116 inches, louvers placed on the hood, and the entire car given a lower appearance.
Automatic windshield wipers were added in 1924, the same year that Roy Chapman Andrews
took three Dodges on a 10,000mile, fossil-hunting expedition into China and inner Mongolia.
In 1926, a two-unit 6-volt electrical system was introduced.
Very rare 1926 Dodge Brothers Sedan with "center opening suicide doors".
This example appears to be mostly original and is fitted with many rare options,
including: Floor Heater, Disc Wheels with Rear Mounted Spare, Motometer, Step Plates,
Window Visor, Cowl Lights and Front Bumper. The engine is a 212.3 CID Four Cylinder
with a Standard 3 Speed on the Floor Transmission. The body is very solid and original,
the engine runs well and strong. The interior is in good original condition, all the glass
is intact and comes with rear window blinds.
